It’s that time of year again when we ask Australians to raise their hands to stand with us in making the Indigenous literacy gap a thing of the past.
Our Wall of Hands campaign, in partnership with Officeworks, supports life-changing literacy programs for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities, empowering kids to write their own bright futures.
For the whole month of September, customers of Officeworks can support the campaign by purchasing colourful hand cut outs at the counter to proudly display on the stores’ windows, by purchasing any Studymate product, or by donating easily online at checkout. 100% of donations will be used to fund literacy programs as well as Literacy Packs filled to the brim with brand-new school supplies for our nation’s most marginalised children.
Buddy Franklin, ALNF legend and passionate ALNF ambassador, believes that the campaign has the power to truly transform literacy and education outcomes in vulnerable Indigenous communities. He states, “Being an Indigenous man I am proud to lend my support to this initiative empowering rural communities and Indigenous people through literacy and numeracy programs. I believe education is the most powerful tool to create change”.
The campaign has also been supported by Jack Dorsey, co-founder and CEO of Twitter, and the founder and CEO of Square.
With the support of Officeworks, we are so excited to have the opportunity to reach more children than ever before.
