Living First Language Platform Receives Additional Funding

Here at ALNF, we are pleased to share that last week the Honourable Ken Wyatt AM MP, on behalf of the Australian Government, announced additional funds towards on-boarding four Indigenous Languages onto our Living First Language Platform (LFLP). The four languages are Warramiri and Warumungu from the Northern Territory, Adnyamathanha from South Australia and Thaynakwith spoken in Queensland.

Minister Wyatt detailed his support for ALNF’s LFLP, stating “Interactive and dynamic digital literacy apps… address the urgent need to revitalise, preserve and teach Indigenous Languages. These apps are a great way to put languages in the hands of young people and appreciate the importance of First Languages to create connections and community.”

As always, we are grateful for this  support from the Australian Government as it will allow us to continue our work alongside First Languages speakers across the country to ensure that First languages are passed on for generations.
