ALNF has a part-time position for a motivated Business Development Manager to join our team. This role offers a dynamic and exciting work environment with the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of marginalised Australians.

Position description

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will focus on identifying and capitalising on opportunities that drive growth and innovation within educational institutions and suppliers, government departments and technology companies and suppliers.

This role requires a strategic blend of market analysis, relationship building, and sales expertise tailored to the unique dynamics of the edtech industry.

Key responsibilities


  • Market Analysis and Strategy Development: Conduct comprehensive research to identify emerging trends, potential clients, and new markets within the education and technology sectors. Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the company's market presence and achieve sales objectives.
  • Client Acquisition and Relationship Management: Proactively identify and engage with key decision-makers in educational institutions and technology firms. Build and maintain long-term relationships to foster trust and collaboration.
  • Sales and Negotiation: Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals. Negotiate contract terms and close deals to secure new business opportunities.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and analyse sales performance metrics, providing regular reports to senior management.

Qualifications


  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Education, or a related field is typically required. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree can be advantageous.
  • Experience: At least five years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within the education or technology sectors. A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets is essential.

  • Strong understanding of the education technology market and trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
